For the price of a rebuild/new engine for a 996, you (I) could just about snag this. Is it overpriced for an S1? Probably, but I’m a sucker for a very clean, lightly upgraded car with a perfect interior.

$16,600 ??? Yikes.

It is undoubtedly too much for an S1.

Not an S, but $10k with only 52k miles on the odo.

50,000 miles and $5,000. Seems like there are tons of these out there at this price around me.
Also, don’t take pictures with a fisheye lens.
Well crap, someone bought it.

Ehhhhhhh......That’s a very weak NP from me. The 3.0L engine and 931 nose panel are nice and all, the clean interior is great, and it’s a factory sunroof delete car from the looks of it (though people can get crafty with fabb ing here), that price seems more like they’re trying to recoup money than genuinely sell it off. Honestly, that’s an excellently sorted out car from the looks of it all.
If it was closer or at $10k, it’d be a solid NP. If it could be talked down to $13k, maybe...It’s also got 986 Boxster seats up front (no one noticed). They are direct bolt ins.

Agreed on all points.
Can’t believe I missed the Boxster seats, can’t unsee that now.

First, that is a very nice looking 944. I don’t get why it is being called an “Outlaw”, but whatever. It is probably a good price.
Second, setting aside everything said above, if you are going water cooled, you might as well get a Cayman. And at this price point, you can find a really nice Cayman 987. I think a flat six in the middle is a much better Porsche than a front engined car. Even with the threat of an IMS problem until 2009 or bore scoring.

I just lost a motor on my 996; it’ll be a while before the PTSD wears off enough for me to hop back in anything with an m96/m97 in it.

I like this much better than the 996, TBH. (Ckearly.)
